It Started With a Simple Love for Animals
Animals have a way of becoming part of our lives without asking for much in return.
A warm place to sleep. A full bowl of food. A little patience. A little kindness.
For many pets, those things are normal. But for millions of animals, they are not guaranteed.
Every day, shelters and rescue organizations take in cats and other animals that have been abandoned, surrendered, injured, neglected, or simply left without anywhere else to go.
Some arrive healthy and only need time and a family.
Others arrive hungry, sick, frightened, or in need of medical attention before they can ever be considered for adoption.
Behind every animal is a story.
And behind every shelter is a group of people trying to give that story a better ending.
That is one of the reasons CarlSlides exists.
Why Animals Matter to Us
We have always believed that businesses can be about more than simply selling a product.
CarlSlides began with a love for cats, but over time our mission became broader.
We wanted to build something that could grow while continuing to bring attention to animals that often go unnoticed.
Shelters across the United States regularly face difficult decisions.
Food has to be purchased.
Veterinary bills have to be paid.
Kennels and facilities have to be maintained.
Animals need vaccinations, medication, bedding, cleaning supplies, transportation, foster care, and countless other things most people never see.
And unlike a normal business, a shelter cannot simply stop accepting animals when things become difficult.
Animals continue arriving.
That pressure never really disappears.
The Work Shelters Do Every Day
When most people think of an animal shelter, they imagine rows of cats and dogs waiting to be adopted.
But there is far more happening behind the scenes.
Shelter workers and volunteers may spend their days feeding animals, cleaning enclosures, administering medicine, arranging veterinary appointments, helping injured animals recover, locating foster homes, processing adoptions, answering calls, transporting animals, and dealing with emergency situations.
Sometimes they are caring for newborn kittens that must be fed around the clock.
Sometimes they receive animals that have been living outside for months.
Sometimes they take in senior pets whose owners can no longer care for them.
And sometimes a shelter simply receives more animals than it has space, staff, or money to comfortably support.
It is difficult work.
It is also incredibly important work.
Small Contributions Can Still Matter
It is easy to look at the scale of animal homelessness and feel like one person cannot make much of a difference.
We don't believe that is true.
A contribution does not have to fund an entire shelter to be meaningful.
It can help purchase food.
It can help with supplies.
It can contribute toward veterinary expenses.
It can give a shelter a little more breathing room during a difficult month.
That is why we continue to contribute to struggling shelters and animal-welfare causes across the United States when we are able to do so.
Sometimes the contribution may be large.
Sometimes it may be small.
What matters to us is continuing the habit of helping rather than treating animal welfare as something we talk about but never support.
More Than a Single Shelter
CarlSlides does not exist to represent one particular shelter.
Our goal is broader.
There are thousands of shelters, rescues, foster networks, volunteers, and independent animal advocates doing important work across the country.
Some have large communities supporting them.
Others operate quietly with very limited resources.
We want our platform to help keep attention on those animals and the people caring for them.
As CarlSlides grows, we hope our ability to contribute can grow with it.
Raising Awareness Matters Too
Financial support is only one part of helping animals.
Awareness matters.
A person who sees a shelter story today may decide to adopt instead of buying a pet tomorrow.
Someone may decide to foster.
Another person may donate food or supplies.
Someone else might volunteer.
A family might decide to have their pets spayed or neutered.
One post cannot solve animal homelessness.
But thousands of small decisions can make a real difference over time.
That is why we use our website and social media to talk about animals, shelters, rescue work, adoption, and the challenges animal-welfare organizations face.
Every Animal Deserves a Chance
Animals do not understand why they were abandoned.
They do not understand why their family never came back.
They do not understand why they are suddenly living inside a shelter.
They only understand what happens next.
Someone gives them food.
Someone cleans their space.
Someone treats their injuries.
Someone sits beside them until they are less afraid.
Someone eventually chooses them.
For that animal, those small acts become everything.
That is the part of animal rescue that inspires us most.
You may not be able to save every animal.
But to the animal you help, the difference is enormous.
Where We Hope to Go From Here
We want CarlSlides to continue growing into a brand that customers enjoy while keeping animal welfare as part of what we stand for.
That means continuing to use our platform to raise awareness.
It means continuing to contribute to shelters and animal-welfare efforts when possible.
And it means trying to become more useful to the people doing the difficult work of caring for animals every day.
We know we cannot solve the problem alone.
We are only one company.
But helping does not require being able to solve everything.
It simply requires continuing to participate.
And that is what we intend to do.
